I am an experienced online language teacher since March 2020, having worked internationally as an English Teacher, Tutor and Governess for eleven years in a variety of environments. I specialise in boosting students’ confidence in their language development and support across subjects, being resourceful, professional, relaxed and fun. I am able to provide educational solutions for children and adults (holding the International House Certificate in teaching young learners and teenagers, as well as CELTA Pass B), and am effective at delivering specific results such as examination preparation. My wide range of interests across the arts and cultures provides for a thorough variety of topics and materials. I am highly skilled in using online platforms and a variety of techniques to engage students in the online environment, including peer-to-peer interaction, annotation and TPR, having attended weekly training and been evaluated regularly.

I always tailor my lesson content and materials to my individual students. With children, our online interaction involves playing fun games and reading based around a topic, inviting the child to annotate on the screen, ask and answer comprehension questions, make actions and drawings for vocabulary items, all of which increases in complexity and challenge with their age and level. My adult lessons are usually based around a topic for each lesson, involving the production of vocabulary required for that topic, and use of reading, listening, speaking and writing in various tasks such as a small presentation with questions and answers with some interesting online material. Including plenty of games of course! With both my children and adult students, we sometimes take a virtual tour of a place or museum.
